A little bit about me...
I'm not really a badass, but I'm working on it. As a kid I had aspirations of being a writer. I even started a novel while I was in college but damn that's a LOT of work!
When that didn't pan out, I decided to stick to short stories and random pieces intended to be humorous. I have no idea if they would make anyone else laugh but I did
manage to crack myself up every now and then so I guess that's something.
When I'm not spilling my guts on this little site of mine I lead a pretty average, dare I say normal, life. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and stayed in that area for college, followed by a very brief career as an athletic trainer. After a few years and more than my fair share of troubled times, I came to my senses and headed to graduate school intending to receive a Health Administration degree, but walked away with a different degree entirely- more on that later. I started working at a major technology company with my shiny new degree in hand, ready to change the world. Ok, so maybe I haven't really changed the world so much, but I'd like to think the work I've done has made a positive difference to someone somewhere.
After nearly a decade of living and working in my beloved Northwest post-graduation, I jumped on an opportunity to relocate to the south of all places. I remember once in college I told a friend there were 5 states I would never live in. Well guess what... yep, I live in one of those states now and I absolutely love it. I still work for the same technology company, but over the years I've had several different roles and my life has changed dramatically. These days I'm a senior IT development manager, a newlywed (again), a mother, a stepmother, a southerner-in-training, and now an aspiring blogger.
I'm probably one of the most honest people you'll ever meet. I learned the hard way some time ago that it's way too much freakin work to try to be something I'm not. Depending on my mood I may very well offend people with my comments and if you end up being one of the offended, I would like to take a moment to preemptively apologize for blogging something that you've chosen to take offense to. This is just a creative outlet, nothing more, take it or leave it. And so with that, welcome to my world, and thanks for reading.
